The stir-crazy is in the air.
Earlier this week, the Pinterest team daydreamed aloud of where we’d work from, if we could be anywhere else in the world (Greece, Marrakech, Costa Rica). I’ve been watching old episodes of Rick Steves’ “Best of the Alps” series, dreaming of gliding along a 3-mile cable in Chamonix. I’m getting Instagram ads from some company offering lower-cost business class travel to Paris. (If you can handle flying out of Newark, natch.)
Probably the least fun response to a case of the stir-crazies: start your taxes! It’s a surefire way to keep you grounded and industrious and definitely not swanning off in Alpine air gondolas anytime soon.

The international beat you didn’t know you needed: Swedish building materials!
Featuring: 20-story plywood skyscrapers (plyscrapers), and the first hotel built of snow and ice, which definitely seems like a villain’s hideout but also kind of my dream getaway
Or you could post up in the grounds that inspired The Secret Garden :)
In the meantime, this Japanese jazz set makes for good focus music

HOT TIP: MAKE A GREAT AVOCADO TOAST
As promised, a little hot tip from me in lieu of a recipe. I have a lot of recipes, perhaps too many! Go check them out in the IGT archive.
Before anyone comes at me with the jokes, I will just say that I am a solidly Millennial, first-time homeowner who also eats avocado toast fairly regularly. We exist! I don’t buy a lot of lattes, though, so I guess it all comes out in the wash.
As this is a Hot Tip week, let’s talk toast. It requires no recipe. So here are a few ideas to maximize its potential:
A softly poached egg, using my silly poached egg baskets
Sumac and za’atar
This Alessi avocado toast seasoning (Tampa’s at it again!!)
Maldon sea salt and gravlax-style smoked salmon
Thinly sliced radish, cucumber, cherry tomato
A smattering of crumbled feta with a bit of honey!
I do love toast and your no-recipe recipe sounds delicious. You're inspiring me to pull out my tired sourdough starter and make some bread! I'm glad I discovered your newsletter!
