Seasonal change is a lot more consistent than Mercury in retrograde, when it comes to making things weird.
I have this theory about “The Shoppies,” which hit at the turn of the season, no matter which one it is. The Shoppies are an insatiable urge to buy more, buy anything, online, in-store, pickup, all sales final. I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it.
According to my limited focus group (N=~5), The Shoppies doesn’t correlate with spring cleaning or purging or sparking joy or any of that. It’s more about nesting with the new; feeling like you accomplished something … even though all you did was spend your own money.
Anyway, a case of The Shoppies caused me to buy a bunch of vintage glass bottles off Etsy that hold no true purpose, spark no real joy, were maybe going to be wedding decor but probably not.

You’re not going to care about this unless you were in high school in the early-mid 2000s/tuned into pop music. But if you fit that criteria, the Magic iPod will put everything back in its place for a moment.
